Steve Harvey was raised in West Virginia in a low-income household. He once wrote at school that he wanted to be on television, but his teacher made fun of him for having such a desire and told him it was not possible. Steve, nevertheless, clung to that vision. He continued to visualize himself on television and to affirm his desire years later. He would say things like, “I will be on television.” I am going to succeed. God has more in store for me. He struggled, living in his car, working odd jobs, and getting rejected, but he never lost sight of his goal. Steve wrote down his goals and spoke to them aloud every day as part of his visualization exercises. He had a strong belief that your life will reflect your consistent words and beliefs. He eventually found success in comedy and later television thanks to his perseverance and faith, and he went on to become one of America’s most prosperous performers.
